Intel® Processor-based computer with a Windows® 10 or Windows 11* operating system.I don't think my drives are relevant and can't remember the memory kit i used., but I can find the 2x8gb kit I used if that info is necessary.Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility (Intel® XTU) requirements I still have a fairly decent chunk of overhead, but I want to make sure its safe to push the chip before I try to go any further. This is probably a long shot, since these components are fairly old, but does anyone know what could cause this, and steps I can take to remedy this. This is a huge pain in the ass, however, because the Clear CMOS jumper and CMOS battery are under my graphics card. I was able to resolve the issue by clearing my CMOS, which if I understand this correctly, refreshes my BIOS settings to stock. Further restarts and attempts to enter BIOS would only result in a black screen. After this, I booted to the BIOS, which actually posted this time, but froze before i could revert my changes to stock. I restarted the computer 4-5 times, this time allowing it to boot to windows, which would alternate between windows repair and a blue screen crash. The Boot Device LED was also solid red, which means the Mobo detected something wrong with the boot drive, which I assume is the drive the BIOS is stored in. There was signal, I could tell the monitor was still getting frames, there just was no BIOS. However, this time instead of posting to BIOS, it just booted to a black screen. The crash threw the same error as when I pushed to 4.3 on 1.2vcore, so I just rebooted and tried to enter BIOS to push my voltage. I ran into a normal bluescreen pushing to 4.4.
I'm currently sitting fairly stable at 4.3GHz, 1.25Vcore, with max temps at 67 and will run a stress test overnight.
I've read a lot of guides and videos, and started pushing my Devil's Canyon chip today. As the title says, I'm new to overclocking.
